The moment her plane lands in Atlanta, Georgia, Larissa McCrae's life takes off in a way she would've never imagined. Uprooted, because of her parents' split, the 17 year old is forced to adjust to a new lifestyle, in a new town, with new faces. She has to tackle issues as they come while also maintaining peace in a home wiht her mother and pre-teen brother. Life begins to take a toll on her, and she starts to wonder how she'll get rhough it all. But, as she faces each new challenge, she learns that her roots give her all the inspiration and motivation she needs.
